GYNN, Alison Joyce
1921 – 2016

Alison passed away suddenly on 17 July, 2016 at Richmond Hospital after a brief but courageous struggle with cancer. Born in Creston, Newfoundland on 9 August, 1921 Alison was the youngest of the three children of Randolph and Adelaide Moulton and was always proud of her Newfie roots. She bore three sons: Randy, Michael and Jeffrey. She was predeceased by son, Jeffrey in 1962; son Michael, in 1984; and by her husband of 34 years and the love of her life, Charlton, in 1985. Alison was fiercely devoted to those she loved and is survived by her sister, Thelma; loving and devoted son, Randy (Lyn); loving grandchildren, Jeffrey (Rose|) and Samantha (Peter); and loving great-grandchildren, Ryan and Madeline Harrison. Jeffrey named her “Nano” in 1970, the name she was afterwards always called by her family and the friends and acquaintances of her grandchildren. Alison will be greatly missed for her carefree but gentle spirit, warm and loving nature, infectious laugh and her joy of life. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Road, Richmond at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2016. The family gives many thanks to the staff of Home Instead Senior Care who provided Alison with loving care and companionship in her final weeks. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Alison’s memory to her two favourite charities, Canuck Place and Ronald McDonald House or to the charity of one’s choice.
